Re-Imagined Radio: “War of the Worlds”

Tuesday, October 30, 2018 - 7:00pm

“The War of the Worlds” was first broadcast 80 years ago on this night. Even if you have never heard the radio broadcast, you know the story. Join us for this anniversary night tribute and enjoy a re-imagined live performance of the most (in)famous radio broadcast of all time.

Doors open at 6 p.m., performance begins at 7 p.m. Cost is $8 in advance or $12 at the door. Food and drinks are available to purchase.

Re-Imagined Radio uses voice actors, Foley sound artists and other creative people to re-create radio dramas, both contemporary and from the Golden Age of Radio (1930s – 1950s), using original scripts. Digital SFX, music, visual backdrops and social media provide new storytelling opportunities. The result: radio as never before seen, or heard.

Re-Imagined Radio is produced by John Barber, clinical associate professor in the Creative Media and Digital Culture program. For more information, contact John Barber at jfbarber@wsu.edu.

Location:
Kiggins Theatre, 1011 Main Street, Vancouver, WA 98660
