“Half the Sky: Empowering Women and Overcoming Sexual Trafficking Worldwide”
New York Times columnist, author and Pulitzer Prize-winner Nicholas Kristof will present “Half the Sky: Empowering Women and Overcoming Sexual Trafficking Worldwide.” Kristof will provide insights from the book “Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide” which he co-authored with his wife and fellow journalist Sheryl WuDunn.
Kristof will explore sex trafficking as one aspect of the “larger human rights violation: the oppression of women and girls in the developing world” (cited from http://www.halftheskymovement.org/pages/book), sharing stories and insights of this shocking, horrific and pervasive issue.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for ticket holders.
