Chancellor's Seminar Series: The Hospitality Industry
Friday, November 1, 2013 - 11:45am - 1:30pm
Join Nancy Swanger, director and associate professor of the School of Hospitality Business Management in the WSU College of Business; and George Schweitzer, hospitality industry executive, for a discussion about the hospitality industry in our region.
Swanger will offer perspectives on the expansion of the hospitality business management program to WSU Vancouver.
Schweitzer will discuss the drivers of regional growth in the hospitality industry and how this benefits the economy as a whole.
WSU executive chef Jamie Callison will be present for a signing of his new cookbook, “The Crimson Spoon.” The 200-page, photo-illustrated cookbook features many of Callison’s highly acclaimed gourmet dishes and recipes that have long been favored among guests attending WSU’s world-class events. Recipes range from extravagant to simple and draw from each area of WSU’s food resources, such as the Organic Farm and Creamery, as well as from the Pacific Northwest. “The Crimson Spoon” will be available for sale for $38.
Tickets for the Chancellor’s Seminar Series are $25 and include lunch, lecture and parking. Tickets may be purchased online by visiting vancouver.wsu.edu/css or by calling 360-546-9580.
